RED ARC Patient Testimonials

From Mr Tim Lloyd, patient of RED ARC Personal Nurse Adviser Angie Mitchell

During October 2009, following an aggressive course of chemo and radiotherapy for tonsil cancer (diagnosed in February 2009), I was contacted by RED ARC who offered me a course of complimentary therapy. Although I had the “all clear”, I was still suffering side effects:

Stiff neck and shoulder muscles.
Poor neck mobility.
Poor posture.
Difficulty in eating due to inability to chew properly.
Dry mouth due to little saliva.
Lack of stamina and breathlessness.

I had maintained a positive attitude throughout my treatment, doing all that was asked of me and accepting advice to facilitate a full recovery. I learned to listen to my body as to when to rest/relax, when and what to eat but something wasn't quite right. I was OK mentally and emotionally but resigned to a long and gradual improvement, my body however seemed ‘out of sync’.

I had :

Broken sleep patterns.
Tiredness suddenly taking over.
Residue and waste blocking my throat.

Generally my system was all over the place.

My initial contact from RED ARC was by a Personal Nurse Adviser. We discussed my background, personality, feelings and expectations. I had full explanation of the therapies and care offered by RED ARC. One of the benefits of the therapy was a complete personal holistic approach.

The Personal Nurse Adviser then sourced an appropriate therapist within my postal area and arranged to fund the course of treatment. All I had to do was turn up to the sessions.
I was booked in for four weekly sessions of Reiki and Therapeutic massage, prior to a review. What a revelation! After only two sessions I felt fitter and more alert. My digestive system and taste improved making more saliva. The stiffness in my neck and shoulders eased considerably.

By the fourth session relatives, friends, colleagues and all the health professionals I met at appointments said how remarkably well I looked. I felt in control of my mind and body once again. Prior to these sessions I could manage to walk only a couple of miles, but I was now walking regular six leisurely miles with the Ramblers. The therapists were overjoyed with my progress and the improvement in my muscular and nervous system.

I have now completed my course of eight sessions and agreed with my employer an early return to work program in the New Year.

The course of therapy arranged by RED ARC removed all the myths and reservations surrounding alternative and complimentary therapy. Any scepticism I may have had has also been removed. I believe the success of the treatment was aided by my open minded approach and faith in the benefits of the therapy.

I would not hesitate to recommend RED ARC to anyone who is seeking complimentary and alternative therapy, counseling and the like care.

Always remember “The mind is like a parachute - it only works when it's open.”
